Finally, here is the Slovenian version of our long-awaited manual! Its aim is to support youth workers in training to empower current and future youth leaders. With it, youth workers will have access to two sets of knowledge:
– Theoretical (informative): the methodology provides a synthesis of several recent concepts in the field of leadership development and a summary of the findings of partner research in Slovenia, Bulgaria, Austria and the Netherlands.
– Practical (experiential): Each theoretical part is followed by practical activities that can be carried out in training or used separately as support activities for other training.
The manual contains seven main chapters that address a variety of topics such as empowering youth leadership, promoting self-awareness, promoting systemic awareness, improving active listening, fostering creative experimentation, promoting proactivity, and structured dialogue with policy makers. Each of the subchapters is designed to provide a brief theoretical overview of the topic at the beginning, followed by concrete practical activities to be carried out in the training. Each of the activities is written in the same form in order to make the activity user-friendly and concrete with instructions on its implementation. For youth workers, it is worthwhile for each description of the activity to contain a list of the competencies that this activity addresses. In addition, the descriptions of the activities contain information on the specific objectives of the activities, the conditions to be met for successful implementation, the estimated time of the activities, the specific steps of the implementation process and the risks and recommendations for trainers and resources for further reading.
